Man United's quest of a trophy this season couldn't not be made any easy when they were drawn against their bitter rivals City. Man City who on the other hand have won the cup in the last 3 years will have to get past Man Utd which they knocked out of the same stage last season to reach the finals.
Man City got to the semis thanks to an away victory from the Emirates. Meanwhile, Man Utd got past Everton with late goals from Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial to book a place in the semis.
The other tie in the cup saw Tottenham Hotspurs drawn against championship side Brentford City that dumped Newcastle Utd to reach a historic first ever semi final in a major competition. The single leg semi finals shall be played in the week of January 4th.
